Apostle Johnson Suleman, a well-known evangelist from Edo State, was born on March 24, 1971. He is the general overseer of the Auchi, Edo State-based church Omega Fire Ministries International. He shares the pulpit with fellow clergyman Lizzy Johnson Suleman, who is also his wife. He was alleged to have submitted himself to the ministerial direction of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the head of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), a student of the late Archbishop Idahosa, before the scandals that followed him in 2015. He has recently been associated with Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, in that role.
Controversy
Apostle Johnson Suleman is renowned for his contentious prophecies, many of which came to pass, his altercation with the DSS when he spoke to the Fulani Cattle pastoralists once more, and most recently, the altercation with Stephenie Otobo, a Canadian artist who accused him of having sex with her. The Clergyman is mostly in the news for controversial illicit affairs with women.
The pastor escaped an assassination attempt in late October 2022 on his convoy in which seven people were killed, including security personnel.
