What is Abuja Municipal Area Council?
The capital city of Nigeria, Abuja, is divided into 6 area councils namely Abaji, Gwari, Kuje, Gwagwalada, Kwali, and AMAC Area Councils. AMAC is short for Abuja Municipal Area Council and it is one of the local government areas in Abuja.
Abuja Municipal Area Council houses the Aso Rock Villa, the federal seat of power. Most of the embassies and federal ministries in Abuja are located within the Abuja Municipal Area Council. Out of all six area councils in Abuja, AMAC is the best. And when compared to other local government areas in Nigeria which has 774 local government areas, AMAC is one of the richest when it comes to revenue generation. It is also among the best-run local governments in Nigeria.

The current chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council is Abdullahi Adamu Candido. Abdullahi has achieved so much as the chairman of AMAC and nobody before him in his position has achieved what he has been able to achieve. He made sure tangible projects are carried out in all wards of the Abuja Municipal Area Council. Some of the notable things he has achieved include creating a community radio, creating a security outfit known as AMAC Marshal, forming an environmental and so many more. It is feared that anyone coming after him might not be able to perform as Abdullahi has so wonderfully performed.
