Saints Simon and Jude Seminary Kuje, Abuja. Kuje seminary is rightly the seed bed of vocations in Abuja. The seminary proprietor is His Grace, Most Rev. Dr Ignatius A. Kaigama, the metropolitan archbishop of Abuja ecclesiastical province.
The Seminary was established in August 1984 with late Rev. Fr Dr Willy Ojukwu (Idee!) as the pioneer Rector. Fr Ojukwu and some seminarians arrived and began the seminary in two little mud houses in the present location of St Kizito’s Catholic Church, Kuje. By 1985, the seminary was moved over to the current site, thanks to the dogged vision of the pioneer formators. Like the biblical mustard seed , it has grown to become a huge shrub where many of her countless children take refuge.
The seminary formation activities revolves around the 4 pillars of priestly formation, that is: spiritual, intellectual, human, and pastoral formation.
The fascinating ongoing ultra modern administrative and classroom blocks is the watershed of the seminary of our dream.
The vision of the seminary remains to make Saints Simon and Jude seminary a befitting nursery bed for training future priests, good Christians, and responsible citizens. These are tasks that translate to the rhythm of seminary formation program.
